Ford Avenue
Platform Lift
The primary challenge presented was the construction of a compact lift within the restrictive confines of the staircase area. This particular space, often referred to as the well, is well-known within architectural circles as posing a significant challenge when one is tasked with fitting a lift system. The reason for this is its typically narrow and atypical shape, which often necessitates a great deal of creativity and ingenuity. In this specific instance, not only were the spatial constraints a factor, but there was an additional aesthetic element to consider. The property’s interior designer made a conscious decision to differentiate the lift's finish from the rest of the surrounding interior colour palette. The aim behind this bold move was to create a statement, essentially setting the lift apart from its surroundings and making it a focal point within the space.
